About The Artist
The core of my youth was immersed working in the Hospitality Industry and later received the honor of graduating from The Culinary Institute in France. I was deeply involved in the artistic aspects of social life including: Music, Ballet, Poetry, Theater and Painting. The “Golden Ages” of my youth and artistic introduction were spent at the French Reverie (St. Paul de Vance), between the nineteen fifties and sixties. This splendid era granted me the opportunity to meet the greatest artists of the 20th century and discover my own passion for painting. I attended many constructive lectures and classes thus exposing me to European painters and thus inspiring me to take the brush and start my own exploration painting on canvas. I immigrated to the New World, USA in the early nineteen seventies where my journey continued.
Through my professional hard work and dedication I promptly became the owner/chef of La Residence Restaurant, at 1586 First Avenue in Manhattan, New York. Step by step, La Residence virtually had transformed into an art gallery with works on view during Saturday and Sunday brunch. The artists were invited to present, describe and discuss their works with interested patrons and other artists. I strongly believed that many of those artists were destined for lasting fame and that perhaps their work will be discovered on the walls of my restaurant. I encouraged my artistic peers to display their paintings, sculpture and lithographs in my restaurant along side my own paintings and the forum “Art Talk/Shop” was born. Here I gained my initial recognition as an artist and established excellent liaisons with Madison Avenue Gallery owners which some of my works showcased at in the nineteen seventies.
I had also participated in group exhibitions at:
- Land Mark Gallery- Soho, New York, NY
- 250 Worth Ave., Palm Beach, FL,
- Gardner Gallery, South Blvd., Manalapan, FL
- National Gallery of Art (Dositejeva, 1,) Belgrade, Yugoslavia
The Golden Coast of Florida is very inspiring for every artistic mind and spirit. It is reminiscent of the “Golden Ages” of my life at French Reverie which touches cords that have a sound of silence, healing meditations and deep introspection. As the member of the Delray Art League, founded in 1965 in Delray Beach, Florida I have been granted a fantastic opportunity to meet other artists to discuss and share different points of view.
These samples of paintings are the essence of my spiritual life and philosophy, inspired by both: the dash of Old Europe and the Scent of the New World!
